Add to Personal Bookmarks Number of Gain a basic knowledge of fundamental fiber and textile techniques, including dyeing, printing, sewing, and weaving. Examine the history of these techniques as well as their relevant applications in a contemporary art context. A focus of this course will be an investigation into the medium’s potential in both the art world and in our everyday lives. (Fall) Two hours lecture each week. Two hours laboratory each week. Three Credits. Three Billable Hours. Demonstrate design concepts through verbal and written critique. Demonstrate ability to interpret and adhere to project goals and specifications as assigned. Create a 3-dimensional form from a 2-dimensional source. Demonstrate the impact of historical and cultural influences in art relating to textile and fiber arts through research and written response. Maintain a portfolio that demonstrates elements and principles of design relative to three-dimensional media.
