Topics covered are bonding, structure, alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, kinetics, stereochemistry, cycloaliphatic compounds, aromaticity, and arenes. Includes laboratory instruction in fundamental organic laboratory techniques including extraction, recrystallization, distillation and simple synthesis. Prerequisites: A “C” or better in CHEM 1030
