PHYS 101 - Fundamentals of Physics I PHYS 101 - Fundamentals of Physics I 4 Credit(s). Is the first in a series of courses in the basic principles of physics. Topics include Newtonian kinematics, dynamics, statics, momentum, energy, waves, and heat. This course is appropriate for students expecting to apply to one of the health care professional schools (e.g., medical, physical therapy, pharmacy, dental, etc.) and also for students in certain technical programs that require non-calculus based physics (e.g., electronics, computer service, architectural drawing, etc.). Students majoring in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics are required to take the PHYS 151 , PHYS 251 , PHYS 252 sequence. The course requires knowledge of algebra and trigonometry.
