PSY 2108 — | Psychology of Transgender Identity
Explores the transgender experience in Western culture. This course covers definitions and language; the history of the transgender movement; the legal, social, and medical aspects of transition; current political issues; cultural aspects of gender diversity; well-known trans-identified people; working with transgender populations; and advocacy. Students will explore aspects of being trans-identified: gain language, knowledge, and skills to work with transgender populations; and understand the diversity of the transgender experience.
