(COMI) COMI 1070 - Responsible and Ethical Implications of Artificial Intelligence (3 Credits) This course introduces students to the responsible, legal, and ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students explore AI’s capabilities and limitations, academic integrity, copyright, fair use, and data privacy and security, including FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). Through discussions and case studies, they evaluate AI outputs for accuracy and bias, practice transparent disclosure, and consider the broader moral and societal impacts of AI across diverse fields.
