CHE 2042 - Organic Chemistry II CHE 2042 - Organic Chemistry II This course is a continuation of the study of the structure, reactions, mechanisms, and synthesis of carbon compounds with an emphasis on conjugated and aromatic systems. Other hydrocarbon derivatives will be investigated, including alcohols, ethers, carbonyl compounds, acids, amines, and macromolecules. Basic spectroscopic methods of identification and analysis will be examined. Laboratory work will involve the preparation, purification, and characterization of organic compounds.
