Contemporary Issues in Esports examines the current events of esports by analyzing the history, ethics, and economic influences on the industry. The legitimacy of gaming as a sport, the influence of sociocultural issues such as gender, and the commercial viability of esports are studied. Students will problem-solve issues through written assignments, class discussion, and projects.
