PHE101 — Introduction to Engineering Design

Introduction to Engineering Design is a project-based course that introduces the product development process. Working in teams and using modern computer tools, students complete the design of a complex system requiring problem specification, product research, product design, product modeling and analysis, fabrication, testing, redesign and product presentation. Engineering fundamentals such as units and dimensions, CAD modeling and analysis, creation of engineering drawings, data analysis with spreadsheets, properties of materials, mechanics, heat transfer, circuits, computer programming and other engineering topics are studied. Corequisite(s): MAT 201
