The course provides an overview of management skills required by leaders of nonprofit organizations. Organization purpose and mission, marketing and communication techniques, fund-raising and grant management, financial management, and the role of the governing board in the nonprofit organization will also be explored. BUS 1 70 Nonprofit Grant Writing and Revenue 3 Credits (3 Lecture 0 Lab 0 Shop) 3 Hrs./Wk. (3 Hrs. Lecture) *1 5 wks. This course is an introduction to the skills necessary to develop and write competitive funding proposals. The course will address the concept of generating revenue for organizations which requires an understanding of income streams, content knowledge, organizational ability, timelines, and utilizing opportunities to the advantage of the organization. Students will learn effective grant writing and revenue generation skills essential to acquiring competitive funding from government agencies, private foundations, and donors. ENG 10 1 or 105.
