(1 Lecture 1 Lab 0 Shop) 22.5 Hrs./Wk. (7 .5 Hrs Lecture 1 5 Hrs. Lab) *2 wks. This course consists of two major sections of instruction and lab experience. The first section introduces the student to the automotive industry, dealership operations, shop safety; Ford service publications, hand and power tool usage, and basic vehicle overview. The second section teaches basic electrical theory, use of electrical test equipment, circuit and component testing, and battery testing and service. In addition, fundamentals, servicing and testing of starting systems, charging systems, and ignition system will also be covered. FOA 1 5 1 Field Experience 5 Credits (0 Lecture 0 Lab 5 Shop) 28 Hrs./Wk. (28 Hrs. Shop) *8 wks. The student works in the service department of a local Ford or Lincoln/Mercury dealership. This hands-on training, under the direction and supervision of an experienced technician, reinforces the subjects learned in FOA 100 and 1 52. FOA 1 52 Auto Electrical Systems 3 Credits (1 Lecture 0 Lab 2 Shop) 1 7 .5 Hrs./Wk. (2.5 Hrs Lecture 1 5 Hrs Shop) *6 wks. This course teaches basic electrical theory, use of electrical test equipment, circuit and component testing, and battery testing and service. In addition, fundamentals, servicing and testing of starting systems, charging systems, and ignition system will also be covered as related to Ford vehicles.
