CHEM 1115 - Chemistry in Art - GE CHEM 1115 - Chemistry in Art - GE 3 credit hour(s) The course will illustrate chemical principles, acquaint students with scientific methods, allow them to critically evaluate scientific claims as presented in the media and in other communicative forums, and emphasize the creation of works of art using their knowledge of chemistry. Meets NMHED General Education Area III - Science. Note(s): *It is recommended that students take CHEM 1115L concurrently with CHEM 1115. The lab experience serves to enhance the student’s understanding of the concepts discussed in lecture. **It is recommended that students take MATH 0970 prior to taking CHEM 1115, as a working knowledge of basic algebra is useful.
