CHEM 2130 - Organic Chemistry I CHEM 2130 - Organic Chemistry I 3 credit hour(s) The course includes theoretical, qualitative, and quantitative discussion of Organic Chemistry concepts, including but not limited to a review of electronic structure and bonding, acids and bases, stereochemistry, an introduction to organic compounds, isomers, substitution and elimination reactions of alkyl halides, reactions of alkenes, alkynes, alcohols, ethers, epoxides, amines, and thiols, mass and infrared spectrometry, ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy, and nuclear magnetic resonance.
