NURS 2400 — Professional Nursing Care of the Patient w/Complex Illness

This advanced course introduces the student to the patient and family with complex illness using the concepts of health promotion, safety, clinical judgment, leadership, patient-centeredness, and professionalism. This semester is focused on the vulnerable patient, which could include multisystem acute and chronic disease processes, and physiological, mental, and socioeconomic factors that put the patient at risk. The patient and family lived experience is emphasized. Prerequisite: Completion of and . (3 lect., 16 clinical hours per week)
