SPT 1000 — Intro to Sports Management
This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of the dynamic field of sports management with a focus on the business operations that drive the sports industry. The student will examine the structure and function of sport organizations, event and facility management, marketing and promotions, media relations, and revenue generation. The course also explores personnel roles, program development, and career opportunities across amateur, collegiate, and professional sports. Emphasis is placed on current trends and issues preparing the student with the foundational knowledge needed for further study and careers in sport management, business, and leadership. (3 lect.)
