STAT 2000 — Statistics and the World

The student will discuss statistical reasoning and methods related to today's society. Interpretations are emphasized, rather than calculation techniques. The focus is on real examples and the use and misuse of statistics. The student will study sampling, experimentation, descriptive statistics, elementary probability, and statistical inference. Prerequisite: Completion of , or test into or higher. (3 lect.)
