WELD 1770 — Gas Metal Arc Welding / Flux Cored Arc Welding on Plate

The student will be introduced to the use of Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) on plate. Topics include modes of metal transfer, electrode identification, power sources, troubleshooting techniques, set-up, and operation. The course projects enable students to advance their Gas Metal Arc Welding and Flux Cored Arc Welding skills on plate. All projects are graded using the D1.1 Structural Welding Code - Steel and the AWS B2.1 Specification for Welding Procedures and Performance Qualification. Prerequisite: Completion of , , and .
