AFRO AM 101 — Introduction to African-American Studies
A survey of African American Studies from an interdisciplinary perspective. This course utilizes the comparative analysis of approaches, methodologies, and key concepts related to the study of people of African descent in the United States, continental Africa, and throughout the African Diaspora. The course utilizes the expertise of African-American Studies faculty, and embraces the seven core fields of the discipline. Writing assignments as appropriate to the discipline are part of the course.
