BARBER 214 — Post-Graduate Barber Ed Training II

In alignment with the Illinois Department of Financial & Professional Regulation requirements, the 1000-hour Barber Teacher Training Program requires 500 hours of post-graduate Barber training. This course completes the second 250 of those hours. This course is conducted under the direct supervision of an Illinois-licensed Barber Teacher. It prepares the student teacher to present theoretical and practical demonstrations to students in the basic Barber curriculum. These demonstrations include the use of educational materials used in the classroom, use of technology in the classroom; and teaching techniques and technical skills in hair-cutting procedures, using chemicals, using the clipper and the razor, procedures for analyzing the skin, care of the skin using massage and the skin care machine, and the development of hair styling techniques. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
