CIS 125 — Introduction to Artificial Intelligence
This course offers an introduction to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) with a practical focus on cloud-based services. Designed for undergraduate students across computer science, data science, and related fields, the course prepares students to take the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam while also gaining hands-on experience building AI-driven applications. Topics include core AI/ML concepts, problem framing, data preparation, model training and evaluation, and the deployment of scalable ML solutions using cloud-based services. The course also integrates discussions on AI ethics, bias in machine learning, and the societal impact of AI technologies. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
