COSMET 101 — Intro to Cosmetology/Barbering
Topics covered in this course include orientation to the cosmetology field, its history, and the current state of the profession. This course also provides a foundation for understanding the histology of hair, principles of personal hygiene, requirements and procedures for sterilization, disinfection and sanitation, roller control, manicures and pedicures. Additionally, thermal and long-hair styling will be introduced. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
