DENTHYG 112 — Dental Hygiene Theory I
This introductory course explores foundational theories, principles, and practices of dental hygiene, emphasizing the dental hygienists professional roles, ethical responsibilities, and scope of practice within diverse healthcare settings. Students learn to apply the dental hygiene process of care through patient assessment, infection control, communication, cultural sensitivity, and documentation to promote safe, patient-centered oral health care. Oral presentations, reading, and writing assignments as appropriate to the discipline are a part of the course.
