EMT 212 — Essentials of Paramedic Medicine I
This course provides a comprehensive introduction to the roles, responsibilities, and critical skills required of a paramedic in emergency medical services. Students will explore foundational concepts in prehospital emergency care, focusing on the systematic assessment, management, and stabilization of patients in various medical situations. Emphasis is placed on the development of strong clinical decision-making abilities, effective communication with patients and healthcare teams, and the application of evidence-based practices in real-world scenarios. The course follows the U.S. DOT Guidelines for Paramedic Training. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
