HUM 144 — Gender and Feminisms in the Arts

This course is an interdisciplinary introduction to literary, visual, film, performing, and media arts in the humanities analyzed with an intersectional feminist lens. Students will explore philosophical, theoretical, and creative work by women, feminist, Queer, transgender, and gender non-binary creators and examine the ways in which gender intersects with race, ethnicity, sexuality, class, ability, and other aspects of identity in the creative work examined in the class. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are required.
