LIS 105 — Information Literacy Basics
Information is all around us, but sometimes that information is misleading, incomplete, or entirely fabricated. This course is designed to empower students to retrieve and evaluate information in order to accurately distinguish truth from fiction, falsehoods and propaganda. Along the way, we will develop strategies to evaluate sources, recognize bias, and give students the tools they need to prosper as lifelong learners. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
