MOR SCI 118 — Microbiology & Pathology for Embalmers
This course is designed to study the disease processes and their impact on the human body, with emphasis on those conditions which relate to or affect the handling of human remains. The course covers the basic principles of microbiology, as it relates these principles to Funeral Service Education especially as they pertain to sanitation, disinfection, public health, and embalming practice. The development and use of personal, professional and community hygiene and sanitation are discussed. Computer skills are required. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
