SOC SCI 160 — Community Organizing

Study of the principles, strategies, and practical skills essential for effective community organizing. Through a combination of lectures, discussions, case studies, and hands-on projects, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of community organizing as a catalyst for social change. Participants will develop the knowledge and skills necessary to engage with diverse communities, identify pressing issues, mobilize support, and create sustainable, positive impact. Writing assignments, as appropriate to the discipline, are part of the course.
