Professional Paramedic Practice – 2 Credits Prerequisite: Current New Mexico AEMT Licensure; Acceptance into Program. Theory course covering the foundational concepts of para - medicine as a profession. Reviews concepts from the EMT curriculum. Emphasizes how the paramedic operates as an integral part of the health care system. Course topics include roles of the paramedic, injury prevention, integra - tion with public health, ethics, research, and emotional and social intelligence. A high-level review of anatomy and physi- ology is also included.
