Trauma Emergencies – 2 Credits Prerequisite: Current New Mexico AEMT licensure; Acceptance into Program. Theory course covering pathophysiology, assessment, and management of trauma patients. Includes discussions on the mechanism of injury, hemorrhage and shock, burns, and injuries to different body systems. Incorporates the Prehos - pital Trauma Life Support curriculum. Special prerequisite: Acceptance into the paramedic program.
