ARTS 117 — Visual Art 1
This course is an introduction to visual art at the College of Southern Idaho. Through a learning process centered on inquiry and reflection, students will encounter strategies to get involved with a creative community; create and share artistic projects; and understand the theoretical, historical and cultural contexts of visual art. It provides a foundation towards completion of the Visual and Performing Arts Associates degree, and is also a great option for lifelong artists seeking personal growth or enrichment. It is repeatable four times for credit towards completion of the degree. Degree-seeking students should consider a section of ARTS 117 at the beginning of their course of study, or as a program elective. Please see current course schedule for descriptions of learning topics covered in individual sections.
