ISMT 160 — Electric Motors, Generators, and Controls

Students will explore the basic principles of electric motor and generator control (both manual and magnetic), principles of ladder logic, standard control circuits such as start/stop and forward/reverse, as well as troubleshooting techniques. topics will include an introduction to electric motor control, manual motor control and overload protection, control transformers, control ladder logic, control relays and motor starters, introduction to troubleshooting, systems troubleshooting, reversing motor control, automatic input devices, and basic timer control: on-delay and off-delay.
