Students learn to perform and understand music with Hispanic and Latino origins, including Cumbia, Bachata, Merengue, Salsa, Afro-Cuban, Samba, and Bossa Nova. The ensemble focuses on classic repertoire, developing students' fluency in syncopated rhythms from these genres, emulating musical style, and preparation for performance. This course may be taken for credit 4 times.
