NURR 102 — Foundations of Nursing Practice

This course provides the foundation of knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for safe, effective practical nursing practice. Students learn fundamental nursing concepts, including the nursing process, communication, infection control, safety, basic nursing skills, and introduction to quality improvement. Emphasis is placed on patient-centered care, professionalism, teamwork, and the development of clinical judgment. Laboratory and simulation experiences allow students to apply concepts in a controlled environment before clinical practice.

Prerequisites: ALLH 220, BIOL 227, BIOL 227L, COMM 101, PSYC 101, MATH 143, MATH 153
