SPAN 203 — Spanish for Heritage Speakers I
This course is for heritage and other advanced speakers of Spanish with oral proficiency but little or no formal training in the language. Generally, these are learners who were raised in homes where Spanish was spoken, or who have spent significant time speaking Spanish in immersions settings. The course builds on the language skills that students already have through the study of Hispanic literature and cultural topics. The main goals are to improve confidence and fluency in speaking, writing, and critical thinking, with emphasis on understanding grammar, spelling, and accents, in addition to exploration and analysis of Hispanic cultures and literature.
