DENT 106 — Dental Assisting Clinical Experience (6 Credits, Spring)
This is a faculty-supervised course at extramural sites with dentists and dental auxiliaries providing ancillary supervision. The student will be provided with clinical experiences by affiliations in general dentistry and/or specialized practices. This course is designed to increase the level of proficiency in a clinical setting. Emphasis is placed on the application of principles and procedures of four-handed dentistry and laboratory and clinical support functions. Upon completion, the student should be able to combine theoretical and ethical principles necessary to perform entry-level skills including functions delegated to a dental assistant. PREREQ: DENT 100 , DENT 102 , DENT 107 , DENT 107L , DENT 108 , DENT 115L , DENT 151 , and DENT 152 with a grade of C or higher. PRE/COREQ: DENT 103 , DENT 105 , DENT 120L , DENT 153 , and DENT 154 .
