ENGL 100 — Writing and Rhetoric Plus (2 Credits, Fall/Spring/Summer)
This is a writing course that provides additional instruction and support for ENGL 101 in the form of hands-on work and additional reading and writing assignments with a focus on developing the writing strategies, critical reading, and study skills necessary to be successful in ENGL 101 . Placement in this course is based on the Write Class. Students who place into a higher level English course may still elect to take ENGL 100 . Students whose ISAT, SAT, or ACT scores place them into English 100 and 101P may use the CWI Write Class tool to seek a higher course placement. PREREQ: ISAT English Language Arts score of 1 or 2, SAT English Evidence-Based Writing Section score of 509 or lower, ACT English+ Reading score of 37 or lower, or appropriate placement from the CWI Write Class Placement tool. COREQ: ENGL 101P . (Please Note: If your placement score qualifies you to take ENGL 101 but you still wish to take ENGL 100 , please register for an ENGL 101P section through myCWI.)
