MUSI 100 — Introduction to Music (3 Credits, Fall/Spring/Summer)
A non-technical course designed to provide a basis for enjoyable listening through the discovery of stylistic differences between historical eras and the individual composers within the eras and through the awareness of the various performance media. In addition to classical music, this course also explores folk music, popular music, and jazz, as well as selected examples of music from non-Western cultures. (This CWI course meets Idaho State Board of Education GEM competency requirements for GEM 5 - Humanistic and Artistic Ways of Knowing.) . (3 lecture hours, 0 lab hours, 3 credits)
