PNUR 115 — Mental Health (2 Credits, Spring)
Students will learn the concepts of mental health that apply to the scope of practice for a practical nurse. Topics include identification of and interventions for common mood and personality disorders, as well as dementia, schizophrenia, and addiction. Emphasis is placed on improving mental health across the lifespan, integrating principles of therapeutic communication, and advocating for the patient's mental health needs. PREREQ: Admission to the Practical Nursing program. PRE/COREQ: PNUR 110 and PNUR 110L . (2 lecture hours, 0 lab hours, 2 credits)
