SOCW 101 — Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare (3 Credits, Fall/Spring)
This course introduces students to the profession of social work, including its core values, ethical standards, and roles within social service systems. Students explore foundational concepts such as social justice and advocacy, social welfare policy, cultural humility, and social work theories. The course emphasizes professional communication and the role of social work in promoting individual and community well-being.
