ARTS 125 — Ceramics I

This course is an introduction to the theory and practice of the ceramic process. Through the planning and execution of a variety of projects, students will be introduced to the basics of hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, the relationship between form and function, and the essentials of decoration and glazes. The history and styles of ceramics from other cultures will be explored.

Prerequisites: ENGL 121
