The course explores the clinical, ethical, legal, and cultural aspects of substance abuse counseling, prevention, and intervention treatment modalities. It also compares different methods of providing substance abuse treatment. It examines how these modalities can be used in community programs to improve treatment effectiveness for diverse cultures, historically marginalized groups, adolescents, families, and the elderly. Additionally, the course evaluates different therapy and community approaches, interventions, and prevention programs and their relevance to the treatment and recovery process.
