SLPA 105 — Speech Sounds Dev & Disorders

This course is an overview of the etiologies and characteristics of a variety of speech disorders across the lifespan with an emphasis on intervention strategies. It includes an exploration of motor speech disorders, tracheostomies, laryngectomies, organic and functional voice disorders, orofacial anomalies and fluency disorders. Includes a review of neuroanatomy and physiology as it pertains to motor speech disorders and anatomy and physiology of the speech mechanism.

Prerequisites: SLPA 101, SLPA 102, BIOL 136
