ART 122 — Two Dimensional Design

is a foundation art and design course in which students learn and practice the elements and principles of design commonly used as guidelines for the visual arts. Using black and white media, instructors will introduce students to various artist materials and methods. Through the design process, students will explore compositional options, configure spatial arrangements, produce and assess solutions in an effort to develop visual and conceptual skills. Exposure to contemporary and historical artists, demonstration, discussion, and critique will supplement studio practices. Required artist materials will be covered at the start of the semester. No experience necessary.
