ART 144 — Figure Painting
Students will study and practice figure painting methods to achieve proper proportion, color relationships, and anatomical accuracy through the direct observation of an unclothed live model. Further, students will study figure/ground relationships, compositional layout, planar structure, foreshortening, and painting materials. Historical and contemporary artwork will fuel technique and discussion. Required artist materials will be covered at the start of the semester.
