NAS 2213 — TRIBAL LAW

An overview of the principles, history, and contemporary practice of law within Native American tribal jurisdictions. The course examines criminal and civil jurisdiction in Indian Country, tribal court operations, and current issues in tribal self-governance. Same as POLSC 2113. (Cr. 3) NAS 2223 TRIBAL COURT AND PROCEDURES This course examines the structure, jurisdiction, and operation of tribal courts within Native American legal systems. Students will study the sources of tribal authority, the role of constitutions and codes, and the interaction of tribal, federal, and state jurisdictions. Same as POLSC 2223. (Cr. 3)
