MEDA1970 — Medical Assistant Practicum
Add to Custom Catalog This course provides the student with opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge, skills, and behaviors in the role of a medical assistant in ambulatory settings. The student is required to complete a minimum of 160 practicum hours in a designated healthcare agency. Weekly classroom activities are designed to assist the student in transitioning to the professional workplace. Preparation for the certificate examination and assessment of job readiness are emphasized. A cleared criminal background check and drug screen are required prior to practicum experiences. Successful course completion is necessary for medical assistant certification eligibility. Course Note: This course requires a prescreen background check to be completed prior to enrollment.
