VTTK1500 — Orientation to Veterinary Technology

Add to Custom Catalog This course is an introductory course in veterinary technology. Lectures will include clinical sanitation, the profession of veterinary technology, veterinary technology ethics, communications, clinical and hospital recordkeeping, breed identification, patient history, and physical examinations of dogs, cats, cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, and goats. Laboratory sessions will cover restraint and physical examination of domestic species and veterinary instrument identification. Students will be assigned dates to be responsible for the care of dogs, cats and large animals kept by the Veterinary Technology Department. Course Note: This course requires a prescreen background check and a rabies vaccination series to be completed previously or at the same time as this course. Course Fees: $150
