Human evolution introduces students to the basics of evolutionary theory in both its historical and contemporary contexts as well as the role of genetics in increasing variation in nature including how closely related humans are to other primates. Several topics will be examined including evidence illustrating how the environment and technology have interacted with biological makeup to change the course of human history and changes and adaptations in modern human populations.
