This course surveys the foundations of Western civilization from ancient times to 1500, focusing on major cultural, political, and technological developments. Students will explore the rise and fall of key civilizations, the impact of religion and intellectual movements, and early global interactions through trade, war, and diplomacy. Emphasis is placed on analyzing historical sources to understand how Western institutions and ideas evolved in a global context.
