LIT 205 — Introduction to Shakespeare (3) (3,0)
This course is an introduction to the works of William Shakespeare. A variety of his most interesting plays will be read and discussed, including at least one comedy, one tragedy and one historical drama. Students will also read some of Shakespeare's most notable poems. The goal is to develop an understanding and appreciation of the man generally considered the greatest writer in the history of the English language. Because Shakespeare's plays were meant to be seen, students will watch an acclaimed film production of each work. (1.1) Fulfills the ECC/IAI General Education/Humanities requirement.
