CIS 162 — Advanced Networking
This course exposes students to networking concepts in increased breadth and depth. Advanced topics in networking architecture, operations and configuration are covered, as well as management and troubleshooting of common wired and wireless network devices. Also included is an introduction to network security, current industry standards and best practices and emerging technologies such as unified communications, mobile, cloud and virtualization technologies. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate the essential knowledge and skills needed to confidently design, configure, manage and troubleshoot wired and wireless networks. This course, in combination with will prepare the student to sit for the CompTIA Network+ certification exam.
